My Stories, All True – VIRTUAL

          November 12 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

          Free
Nonagenarian J. David Bamberger and journalist Pamela LeBlanc stand in a field surrounded by light green, thigh-high grass with a backdrop of dark green trees (out of focus). He wears khaki pants and a grey tee and has wavy white hair, and she wears white shorts, a blue and white gingham button up top with a structured straw hat over short brown hair. They are holding out their hands and looking down at a plant he is holding and she is smiling.

Join author Pamela LeBlanc for an insightful look into her new book, “My Stories, All True,” which recounts her friend David Bamberger’s? journey through life as an entrepreneur and conservationist. Bamberger is best known for his work to restore his 5,500-acre preserve, earning him national acclaim. Listen to tales of Bamberger’s experience with loss, growth, and relationships with fantastic friends (such as Sam Walton, Jane Goodall, and Lady Bird Johnson) — and how he came to own and tend his land, of which he says: “Fifty years ago, this ranch had the reputation of being the worst piece of real estate in Blanco County” (Bamberger in a Texas Monthly piece penned by LeBlanc).

In the book, written over the course of a year with a storyteller’s flair and insightful commentary from LeBlanc, Bamberger shares the tales of a remarkable life as a resourceful country boy, a savvy entrepreneur, and a consummate conservationist whose vision has set the standard for the restoration of nature on private lands worldwide.
